Arapahoe Public Library Breaks Ground to Begin Renovations
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Arapahoe Public Library originated in 1919 and works to serve our community, provide research tools and to ignite imaginations. Over the past couple years, the library has set a goal to renovate its current building in order to meet growing demands and provide a space for the community.
These renovations have been made possible through a number of processes. Volunteers of the Library hosted a successful online Arapahoe Gala event this past March, even though the COVID-19 pandemic was sweeping into the area. The support from across the community has made this project idea become a reality.

They have also worked on finding additional funding. For example, they were awarded a Civic and Community Center Financing Fund $372,000 matching grant from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development that has allowed them to begin renovation. They hope to move into the newly renovated building by Spring 2021. They can't wait to serve our patrons again at full capacity.

Looking forward...Plans for the 2021 Arapahoe Gala are already underway. Plus, there are plans in the works for the 2021 Summer Reading Program. They are very excited to share this new space with everyone!

Stop in and check out a book or movie, attend one of our programs, volunteer with our Friends of the Library Group, or volunteer for the Arapahoe Gala.
